1.Evolution

The department of financial calculus was transferred from the faculty of statistic to the faculty of finance in December 2013.Financial calculus provided the basis for integrating resources of finance,especially the financial econometrics course and financial MATLAB course,which made an linked impact on software learning process so that students were able to master from Excel to MATLAB and finally mastered Python.We applied a new major called internet finance in 2016 and it adapted to the demand of economic and social development.Internet finance mainly show that internet deeply combine with finance.Its curricula contain thinking in the internet apply to finance.In 2017,the department of financial calculus transferred into department of applied finance in order to adapt to the demand of disciplinary development.In 2018,after school raised the strategy of new economic management,the faculty of finance improved and reformed the major of internet finance based on the department of applied finance to improve the department of finetch.In 2020,the faculty also selected outstanding students within the faculty to establish finance(fintech) experimental class and succeeded in gaining the title of provincial teaching team of fintech.At the same time,the department of fintech was announced the establishment.

2. Introduction

The department of fintech contains two majors:the major of internet finance and finance(fintech) experimental class.internet finances teaching key points are training thinking in the internet,ability of finance practicing and identifying financial risk and risk controlling. We have a professional teaching team of financial calculus undertakes primary curricula.In addition,some curricula are undertaken by the faculty of management science and engineering

Fintech emphasizes that finance combines with technology.In other words,it will promote financial innovation by means of machine learning,artificial intelligence,data mining and so on.Technologys contribution to finance is no longer limited to simple application of information technology,but begin to deep combination of finance+technology.The subject of fintech innovation cannot be divorce from talents.At the same time,talents support its operation and innovation.It is such a urgent and significant task to establish a team of fintech talents.  

The major of fintech emphasizes the application of technology in finance,especially scene construction.We promote talents training and major construction by project driving,we also undertakes four firsts project.We have a provincial teaching team of fintech which has 13 core member from the faculty of finance,the faculty of statistic,and the faculty of management science and engineering.Our research field contains the analysis and application of financial big data mining,the application of robot financing in security,the application of machine learning(deep learning) in financial field and so on.At present,this team has already finished ten core fintechs curricula.It not only can undertake finance(fintech) experimental class,but also provide a foundation to realize new economic management strategy which can play an important role in integrating teachers resource and optimizing courses resource.

Our countrys society demands for remarkably growing of fintechs talents in different fields and levels.Under the construction of the new economic management,combined with the actual situation of financial and economic talents training in our school,fintechs talents training demands for interdisciplinary innovation,training inter-disciplinary ,innovative and practical talents of finance and economics and information technology.At present,the department of fintech adapts to current demand of socioeconomic development.It tries hard to educate that makes people satisfied and train talents who grasp finance as well as artificial intelligence.Our aim to educate is applying technology to every financial fields.For instance,robot financing,risk control with big data,basis of machine learning,deep learning,text mining,financial data mining and block chain.

3.Staff

The department of fintech has 9 teachers,sensible construction of professional title and 100 percent of doctorate.Firstly,sensible construction of faculty:9 teachers doctorate studied outside school.Secondly,sensible construction of professional title:we have 3 associate professors and 6 lecturers.The senior professional title account for 66 percent.Thirdly,sensible construction of age:2 teachers are 45 to 49 years old,5 teachers are 35 to 39 years old and 2 teachers are under 35 years old.so we stay the tradition of inheriting.Among the teachers,we have 4 master tutors(44 percent),1 doctor from other countries,1 nationwide outstanding teacher and 1 foregoer of academics and technology in Anhui Province.

4.Main course

Curricula contain introduction to fintech,risk control with big data,robot financing,basis of machine learning,block chain and financial big data mining and analyzing.
