1.Evolution

The faculty of finance has a long history and strong professional background. Its predecessor can be traced back to the faculty of Public Finance in the early days of the establishment of the University in 1959. In 1978, the discipline of Public Finance was changed to the discipline of Finance, and the discipline of Finance and Cameralistics were established separately in 1984. In 1995, the faculty of finance was established with the discipline of money and banking and insurance. The discipline of international finance was newly established in 1996 and adjusted to the discipline of Finance (including the direction of International Finance) in 1997. In 2005, merging the former institute of Finance and the institute of economics into the institute of economics and finance, the faculty of finance was officially established. Since the establishment of the institute of Finance in 2009, it has continued to set up the institute of finance. Now it is recruiting ordinary undergraduates majoring in finance.

2.Introduction

Finance discipline is now a national first-class discipline construction point, national characteristic discipline, national professional comprehensive reform pilot discipline, provincial characteristic discipline of Anhui province and provincial first-class (brand) discipline of Anhui province. finance discipline is B key discipline construction point of Anhui province class, with finance academic master's degree and finance professional master's degree awarding right.

The number of finance graduates has exceeded 50 session sinces 1959 (when some college students were enrolled); more than 20 sessions since 1995; and since the official establishment of finance institute (grassroots teaching organization) in 2005, finance graduates of session has been more than 10.The basic length of schooling of finance discipline is 4 years, and up to now, there have been more than 2,000 ordinary undergraduates. In the past five years, the employment rate of undergraduates has been stable at above 97%, and the rate of going abroad for the postgraduate entrance examination has exceeded 25%.

On the basis of the educational orientation and training objectives of schools and colleges, finance discipline adhere to take undergraduate education as the foundation and strive to push for the four returns.Besides, finance discipline practice the requirements of the new management construction projects and adhere to the training goal of cultivating people by virtue. To cultivate students to meet the needs of economic and social development, finance discipline pay attention to student’s Comprehensive Development in moral, intellengence, sports, aesthetics and labour education. Teaching work attaches great importance to training students to have a relatively solid mathematics, economics, finance and management

Learn basic knowledge ,in particular, with good financial theoretical knowledge and business skills. Teaching work attaches great importance to training students who can be engaged in financial practice work in banking, securities, investment, insurance, trust and other macro-economic, financial management departments and enterprises, or engaged in research and teaching work in scientific research and teaching departments. The teaching work aims to cultivate students with solid foundation, wide caliber, strong ability and high quality, and make them full of integrity and social responsibility, with innovative spirit, entrepreneurial consciousness, competition and cooperation consciousness and practical ability. Teaching work ensures that students become application-oriented and compound specialized talents to meet the needs of economy and society.

3.staff

Finance discipline has strong teachers and a wide range of academic connections. Up to March 1,2022, our institute has 31 full-time teachers. Among them, 20 people have doctoral degrees and 3 p PhD candidate, accounting for 74.19%.  Eighteen individuals received their doctoral degrees outside of school, so we have reasonable academic structure. We have 9 professors, 7 associate professors, accounting for 51.61%. Owning 15 lecturers, the professional title structure is more reasonable. Five teachers aged over 55, four teachers aged 50-54, eight teachers 45-49, eight teachers aged 40-44, one teacher aged 35-39, and five teachers under 35 years old, therefore, our teachers have a reasonable age structure. Older teachers give help and set an example to younger teachers. In finance discipline, one teacher was honored with young and middle-aged municipal-level key teachers of Anhui Province, two  teachers were honored with Distinguished Teacher of Anhui Province, two teachers were honored with Rookie of the teaching world of Anhui Province, three teachers were honored with school-level excellent teachers, and one teacher was honored with ten my favorite teachers in the school.
